Video Junkyard Podcast

Do you ever get a flash of a memory of a movie you saw as a child, but can’t remember the name? Perhaps you caught it on TV while staying up later than you should have. Or maybe you never saw it, but you recognize the cover art from the neighborhood video store around the block. At the Video Junkyard, we dig up these forgotten films and franchises and see if they still hold up in the digital age. Hosts Erik Gulbrandsen, Joe Peterson and Ryan Steiskal will look at the best, the worst, and the best of the worst.

We ring in the holidays with an unofficial holiday classic. Tonight we're looking at 1991's Hook directed by Steven [MF'n] Spielberg. This is one that lots of folks our age regard highly as an all-time classic but contemporary audiences weren't quite so keen. What will the guys think after revisiting Neverland with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman? Well you'll have to take a listen and decide whether this one grew up with you or should it stay "Lost" forever.
Do you love Hook? Hate it? Somewhere in between? Drop us a line at the VJP Facebook Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/2072427876119534/) or email at VideoJunkyardPodcast@gmail.com and let us know your review.

Welcome to a new kind of show from the Video Junkyard Podcast. Adopting the format of a panel discussion the guys from the Junkyard will discuss topics and tropes of the film industry and pop culture. Unlike our regular show we will not be reviewing individual movies but talking about a topic with a bit larger scope. We call our new creation.... Trash Talk!
In the first Trash Talk episode co-host Ryan Steiskal leads our discussion about filmmaker Martin Scorsese's controversial comments about Marvel Super Hero films. With the help of our resident old guys Joe and Erik we will try to see if there is any weight to Marty's argument or if at the end of the day this is just click bait at it's finest. Either way we hope you'll click this special episode.
And don't worry the VJP returns to form tomorrow as we bring you our review of 80's family adventure film Space Camp.
