Video Junkyard Podcast
Do you ever get a flash of a memory of a movie you saw as a child, but can’t remember the name? Perhaps you caught it on TV while staying up later than you should have. Or maybe you never saw it, but you recognize the cover art from the neighborhood video store around the block. At the Video Junkyard, we dig up these forgotten films and franchises and see if they still hold up in the digital age. Hosts Erik Gulbrandsen, Joe Peterson and Ryan Steiskal will look at the best, the worst, and the best of the worst.

This week: Crawling up from the depths of the Junkyard Lagoon it's the first of two of our series of forgotten gill person movies. This is "Humanoids from the Deep", the infamous Roger Corman classic that still can turn heads to this day. The question is: Is this one worth another dip into the deep or should it sink back down to the depths where it came from? Watch the movie for free on Tubi TV and then press play and we'll talk... after this one... you're gonna need it.

On this episode of the Video Junkyard Podcast we take a look at the 1985 claymation film "The Adventures of Mark Twain" directed by the great Will Vinton. Telling the story of Twain's larger than life persona as he tries to catch up with Haley's Comet and reflects on his lesser-known works. As typical in many 80's kids movies, it gets creepy. But is it good enough to live up to the tall tales, or is it just whitewash? Check out the film on TubiTV.com for free, then join us for the discussion on the Video Junkyard Podcast!

This week we take a look at the 1989 Empire Pictures sci-fi sports flick "Arena". Think of this on as 'Rocky' in space. Ryan brings us this film he remembered from his youth and we compare and contrast it with its sister film "Robot Jox" that we watched last week. Check out Arena on YouTube and then join us for the fun!

It's Official. We here at the Video Junkyard Podcast have extended the holidays. We bring you a bonus 3rd part to our holiday horrors series. This week we're watching the 2003 horror/thriller "Dead End" starring Ray Wise and Lin Shaye. This one was an under that radar horror film that has often been called "severely under rated". Listen in as we drive down the road to Marcott with the Harringtons and let you know if this one is really worth digging out of the Junkyard.
All of us here at the VJP are wishing you a safe and Happy New Year!

Ho Ho Ho! This week on the Video Junkyard Podcast we bring you Christmas Evil (1980)! This cult classic tells the story of Harry, a Christmas-obsessed toy factory employee who takes his love of Santa Claus too far by enforcing his own standards for the holidays on everyone he encounters. This little character study isn't quite like other holiday-themed horror films, but does Christmas Evil deliver, or is this a lump of coal? Check out the movie for FREE on Vudu then check out this festive episode to join in on the conversation!

This week on the Video Junkyard Podcast we look back on the early career of Mike Myers of "Austin Powers" fame with the 1993 comedy "So I Married An Axe Murderer" with Nancy Travis, Anthony LaPaglia, and more. Director Thomas Schlamme introduces us to beat poet Charlie (Myers) who constantly self-sabotages his relationships out of a fear of commitment until he meets Harriet (Travis) who seems to good to be true! So is this 90's romcom still side-splitting, or has its edge dulled over the years? Check out "So I Married An Axe Murderer" on PlutoTV for free then join us for the discussion on the Video Junkyard Podcast!
