Or maybe you never saw it, but you recognize the cover art from the neighborhood video store around the block. At the Video Junkyard, we dig up these forgotten films and franchises and see if they still hold up in the digital age. Hosts Erik Gulbrandsen, Joe Peterson and Ryan Steiskal will look at the best, the worst, and the best of the worst.

This week on the Video Junkyard Podcast we check out the 2003 animated film "Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem", directed by Kazuhisa Takenouchi. Written by Thomas Bangalter, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, and Cédric Hervet, this hard-t-find anime is set to the "Discover" album by the French electronic music duo Daft Punk.
So it's an hour-long Daft Punk video.

Our TARDIS has landed once again and this time we're talking about the audio book of James Goss's 2017 novel "Doctor Who and the Krikkit Men". "Doctor Who and the Krikkit Men" is adapted from a story by the late, great Douglas Adams and this BBC audio book is performed by none other than Dan Starkey (who you may know as Strax or various other Sontarans on Doctor Who).
Returning to the Junkyard this week are PBJ co-host Assad Khaishgi and Larry VanMersbergen from the Doctor Who Collectors Podcast.

This week on the Video Junkyard Podcast we start our Listener Picks! You picked them, we watched them, and we're still recovering. To kick things off, listener ReBecca Hunt-Foster chose the 1988 sci-fi family comedy "Mac and Me". This totally original, never-before-seen story involves a a young boy who befriends a small alien who has lost his way on planet Earth. While trying to avoid government/scientists/scary people in lab coats, they try everything to save the creature who also has powers for some reason. Oh and there are numerous blatant product placements. And a break dance contest at McDonalds.

This week it's "The X From Outer Space" for the third and final installment of the Kaiju Kountdown. We are celebrating the release of the new "Godzilla vs Kong" movie that comes at the end of the month by watching some of our other favorite Kaiju (giant monster) movies.
"The X From Outer Space" is a silly slice of 60s nostalgia that's got to be seen to be believed. Stop off at HBOMax (if you will) and give it a look and then join us as we break down this attack from the chicken headed monstrosity Guilala.
